Alert! Scammers buying gold

Good afternoon,

This message is being sent to the whole Canterbury District as an alert/warning.

Door to door prowlers have been seen in Canterbury asking to purchase gold from residents. These people typically target older, more vulnerable people and have been using high pressure and intimidating tactics into convincing people to sell their gold to them for a low and unreasonable price. Please spread this message around your family members and your friends to make them aware of this behaviour and to make a report online or to 101 if you encounter something similar. Our best advice is, if somebody knocks on your door, and you do not know who they are, confirm their reasons for being at your door before opening and be wary of those asking to buy your gold.
